We were very privileged to have a private lecture by local historian Peter Sotheran. Peter was kind enough to reserve a room in the beautiful Kirkleatham Museum for the presentation. The team was treated to Peter's personal collection of photos and oral history from Old Saltburn and modern Saltburn-by-the-Sea. Of special note were the photos of the old Saltwater Swimming Baths in Saltburn Town Centre which was sadly demolished in the latter part of the last century.
After the lecture the team explored Kirkleatham Museum, which maintains a beautiful collection of Victorian furniture, World War I collections, and Steel Industry paraphernalia.
